Tri-State RFG was founded January 1, 2019, more than 5 decades after the man whose initials the business was named in honor of began his career in Transport Refrigeration! Roy Fred Gardenhire, father and role-model of RFG owner Tim Thomas, was a gifted Engineer with scientific, mathematical & technical understandings SO brilliant that he was frequently called upon for guidance by some of the leading players in the industry whenever they came upon problems that even THEY had trouble coming up with solutions to. Even minds as visionary as the "Imagineers" from Walt Disney World were known to seek his counsel and advice.
Having been so well respected in the field, it IS a bit ironic that his initials just so happen to be the abbreviation for 'refrigeration'! 'Fred' spent his entire career earning a reputation as a Visionary and Icon within the industry, someone that even Master Technicians looked up to. But, even still, it wasn't his mechanic genius or technical skill that set him SO far ahead of the rest in the minds of anyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing or working with him. It was his kind heart, his wise and inspirational ways, and his genuine LOVE for every single one of his 'Brothers in Christ" which made Fred a true HERO to all; the REAL reason he will forever be remembered in such a high respect and with deepest admiration. Fred would give you the shirt off his back, the meal off his table and ALWAYS treated everyone as if they were FAMILY!
